SUURBRAAK GRAIN FARMERS

Suurbraak Grain Farmers is a co-operative consisting of five beneficiaries, namely Alan Jeftha, Wilma Adams, Dirk Willemse, Chris Louw and Andy Harmse. These beneficiaries together with their mentor, Dirk Van Papendorp,  have extensive farming experience ranging between 12 and 30 years.

They all farm on separate leased pieces of land in Suurbraak in the Swellendam region to produce  grain crops  such as canola, wheat, oats and barley.  This co-operative obtained its funding from the WCDoA’s Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme, which was allocated during a Grain CPAC meeting in the past year.  The funds were used to procure production inputs, implements and the improvement of the implementation of the storage shed at the project.
