GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The works, as described, are part of the Agriculture and Land Reform programme for the Garden Route. The site is situated at Moordkuyl 38, Benekom road, Friemersheim, 6525, in the Western Cape Province. The successful bidder must have the capacity to start the works immediately after appointment and complete the work within 60 (sixty) calendar days after appointment.  

The project has 2 components: each to be evaluated independently:

  1. Turn-key greenhouse (includes supply of material, labour, transport and installation: lump sum bid) as per CBD 4
  2. Drip irrigation system (includes supply of material, labour, transport and installation: lump sum bid) as per CBD 4
  3. Both the tunnel and the irrigations system much come with a minimum 6 months warranty on workmanship.

The quoted amount will be a lump sum bid and must include all material, labour and transport to the site.

Conditions that may pose a risk: (Summary of Risk analysis)

  • Staff can slip over- and into excavations;
  • Exposure to elements (sun, cold and dusty conditions);
  • Injuries due to the wrong usage of tools;
  • Back injuries due to lifting heavy objects and digging trenches.

The Contractor must put all necessary precautions in place to work under these conditions and prepare the site with the correct measures.

  5. Bank Entity Form (Form CBD 7), unless the banking details of the company indicate “verified” on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
  6. Registration on the CSD for all suppliers is compulsory and registration numbers must be supplied.
  7. Local Content Declaration (Form SBD 6.2 annexure C, D and E)

 

In accordance with Casidra’s Preferential Procurement Policy, this bid as further indicated in CBD 5.2 is subject to:

  • a functionality compliance test; (does the bidder have the skills and experience to do the work)
  • B-BBEE certified bids will receive preferential scores;
  • Local production and content:

This bid includes goods from a designated sector (steel products and components for construction) and only locally produced goods, services or works, or locally manufactured goods with a stipulated minimum threshold for local production and content will be considered. The successful bidder will be required to fill in and sign a written Contract Form (CBD 8). Included are a penalty clause of R 550.00/calendar day that apply for late completion of works and a 10% retention fee for 3 months not bearing interest.

BID DEADLINE:  The closing date for the bid is 8th of December 2021 strictly at 12H00.

SUBMISSION OF BIDS

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bidder and the inscription “BID NO: 62/2021 (Re-Advertisement): SUPPLY, DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF A COMPLETE TURN-KEY GREENHOUSE AND AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR TURN-KEY GREENHOUSE” and placed in the bid box available at Reception of Casidra’s Regional Office, Bateleur Park, Suite 107, 133 Cradock Street, George, 6529. No faxed, counter-to-counter courier, email or posted bids will be accepted.
