The farm is situated approximately 35km from Mossel Bay. Construction commence from December 2018 and be completed June 2019. The quoted amount will be a lump sum bid and must include all labour and material.


Conditions that may pose a risk:

Rocky soil conditions can be expected and the Contractor must put all necessary precautions in place to work under these conditions.


The Scope of work will include:


Cattle kraal for 55 cattle (Size 20 x 20m)

·         Kraal to be built from treated poles.

·         Kraal consist of a holding pen, forcing pen, race and loading ramp.

·         Neck clamp must be installed at the end of the race. (See picture CBD 4     Scope of work)

·         Platform & scale must be installed in the race. (To be decided on site)

·         Loading race to be build out of blocks and treated poles with a height of     1.8m and concrete floor on compacted soil.

·         All floors in the race must be of concrete.

·         Installation of all gates.


Sheep kraal for 100 sheep (Size 20 x 17m)

·         Kraal must be built of treated poles.

·         Kraal consist of 5 pens, bugle forcing pen and a 3m race and a 10m              working race.

·         The pens are built with poles and wire netting.

·         The bugle and races are built with horizontal split poles.

·         Installation of a scale and tilt crate in the race.

·         Installation of all gates.

In accordance with Casidra’s Preferential Procurement Policy, this bid as further indicated in CBD 5.1 is subject to:

·         B-BBEE certified bids will receive preferential scores;


·         Local production and content

This bid includes goods from a designated sector steel products and components for construction and only locally produced goods, services or works, or locally manufactured goods with a stipulated minimum threshold for local production and content will be considered. SBD 6.2 and Annex C, D and E documentation apply and must be completed and handed in with this bid.


The successful bidder will be required to fill in and sign a written Contract Form (CBD 8). Included are a penalty clause of R 500/calendar day that apply for late completion of works and a 10% retention fee for 3 months not bearing interest.

A compulsory site meeting will be held on 20th of November 2018 at 11:00 at Toekomslaagte GPS coordinates

Notice of attendance must be forwarded to the contact person as copies of the design plans for the works will be handed out at the meeting.

BID DEADLINE: The closing date for the bid is 26 November 2018 at 12H00.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bidder and the inscription “CONSTRUCTION OF A CATTLE & SHEEP KRAAL – BID NO 230/2018.” and placed in the bid box available at Reception of Casidra’s Regional Office, 1st Street 7Fairview office Park, George. No faxed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted.
