EROSION PROTECTION STRUCTURES: REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURE & GABION EROSION CONTROL WEIR: UNIONDALE

The works, as described, is part of the Disaster Management Programme for the farm Nocturn situated within George Municipality, Western Cape. The bid will be a measured bid for the works described and is to include material, labour and machinery. The works must be completed within a 6 month (definition as defined further) contract period.

 

The scope of works entails the upgrading of an existing spillway of an existing in-stream dam. This will entail the construction of a steel reinforced concrete structure and a gabion erosion control weir.

 

The project is a CIDB grading of 4CE, but due to the developmental approach in this program a lower grading will be accepted. Bidders must therefore have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 3CE or higher.

 

BID DEADLINE: The closing date for the bid is 6th April 2018 strictly at 12H00.

 

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked as “NOCTURN : EROSION PROTECTION STRUCTURES, UNIONDALE - BID NO 100/2017” and placed in the tender box available at Reception, Casidra’s Head Office, 22 Louws Avenue, Southern Paarl.   No faxed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted.

 

A compulsory site meeting will be held on 22nd March 2018 at 12h00 atthe farm Vygekraal 233 (also known as “Laaitjies Laagte or Nocturn), located immediately North of the R62 road between Avontuur and Haarlem within George Municipality. The property is approximately 8 km’s North West of Haarlem. (GPS Co-ordinates 33°43’20.54” South and 23°14’29.94” East ).  

 

In accordance with Casidra’s Preferential Procurement Policy, BEE qualified bids will receive preferential scores.

 

Notice of attendance to be given no later than 12:00 on 14th March 2018 as bid documents will be handed out at the site meeting. Please take note that bidders not attending the compulsory site meeting will not be eligible to submit a bid. A locality map (pdf format) with directions to the site is available on request.

 

Any deviations from the original tender document will be sent out as an addendum to the contractors that attend the site meeting.
