NEW SHAREHOLDER REPRESENTATIVE WELCOMED
Casidra’s Board of Directors and Management team extended a warm welcome to the new Minister of Economic Opportunities, Ms Beverly Schäfer, during a meeting held at Casidra’s Head Office on the 22nd of November 2018. During her introduction, Minister Schäfer expressed her appreciation and said that it is a wonderful privilege to be Casidra’s new Executive Authority. She further expressed her excitement to continue working with Casidra as Provincial Government Enterprise and said that one of her key responsibilities is to oversee the agriculture sector in the Western Cape of which Casidra plays a pivotal role in that space.
Minister Schäfer replaced Minister Alan Winde who has taken up his new portfolio as Minister of Community Safety in the Western Cape. The Board’s outgoing Chairperson, Dr Leonie Coetzee, thanked Minister Schäfer and said, “We are extremely grateful to have you as our newly appointed shareholder. You and your Department will certainly have our continued support. We will appreciate your guidance to align ourselves with the Province’s Strategic Objectives and Goals as well as the expectation of the shareholder”.
The meeting concluded by highlighting several changes that occurred within Casidra’s Macro-organisational structure. For Dr Coetzee, it was time to depart from her journey with Casidra after resigning as Chairperson of the Board. Mr Ainsley Moos will be taking over the reigns as the new Chairperson and Mr Elton Jefthas as Vice-Chairperson. Both members expressed their vote of appreciation and look forward to steering the ship towards the Company’s desired destination.
This was the last Board meeting for our former Chief Executive Officer, Michael Brinkhuis, who tendered his resignation earlier in November 2018 and vacated his position at the end of December 2018 to pursue his career.
The Board wished everyone well and delegated the senior managers to act as CEO on a rotational basis while they are in the process of appointing a new CEO to take over the reigns from March 2019.
2019-YEAR OF TRANSITION
