Cape Agency for Sustainable Integrated Development in Rural Areas (Casidra) received its 26th unqualified audit to maintain a good standing financial and performance report status quo during the company’s Annual General Meeting held on 26 August 2015 at Head Office.

Minister of Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde congratulated Casidra for what he described as maintaining its excellent status of good financial processes.  “Casidra has a good track record and has good financial systems in place for which it is well known.  You make my Department proud for being a good example”, said Minister Winde, a shareholder and Executive Authority of Casidra.  Minister Winde emphasised that Casidra must be ready to position itself to support the Provincial Government in rolling out new projects such as Land Reform, Project Khulisa, Agri-processing, etc.  He further alluded that, “Casidra is at the centre of all these new initiatives and must be proactive and prepared to address them.  There is a high potential for growth and Casidra has proven that it can handle these initiatives extremely well”.

Adv. Gary Oliver, the longest serving Board member, was re-elected as Chairperson with Dr Leonie Coetzee as his Vice-Chairperson.  Their re-appointment was welcomed by the shareholder who wished them success in their various portfolios.  Adv. Oliver expressed his appreciation to the Board for believing in his leadership.  “I thank you all because you are a great team full of skills needed to enhance the mandate of this organisation.  I would also like to extend my appreciation to the Management team for their hard work and for ensuring that our day-to-day operations run smoothly”, said Oliver.  Adv. Oliver concluded by saying that this is testimony of having a good team of skilled managers and clean audits have become part of Casidra’s culture.

In his speech, Michael Brinkhuis, Chief Executive Officer of Casidra, said “We have proven to ourselves and various stakeholders that through creating the right partnerships and passionately yet meticulously executing our tasks, we are able enrich the lives of many. Casidra continues to render a project management service to the needy communities and different clients with pride”.

Brinkhuis extended his vote of thanks to all the key role-players, Minister Alan Winde, Board members, Head of the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, Ms Joyene Isaacs, and her Senior Management team for their support and guidance with our work as well as the Standing Committee of Economic Opportunities, Tourim and Agriculture for their scrutiny of our work as well as Casidra’s Management team and staff for their dedicated hard work and team spirit. “I would like to end by assuring the Minister and Board that we are ready to take up new projects, such as Land Reform, Project Khulisa and Agri-processing as requested”, he concluded.
