Casidra executing specialised alien plant clearing in rivers and dams

Casidra’s Environmental Sustainability team is on a mission to save precious water resources by eradicating invasive alien plants. The programme is aimed at removing intrusive alien plants which use much more water than our indigenous vegetation. Invasive plants damage the ecological integrity of our natural systems and also create problems for planting of crops. People depend on these natural systems for their livelihoods and our country cannot do without food production.

The job creation for local communities is key for this programme, and this includes processing the plant material that has been harvested.
