CASIDRA DELIVERS SCHOOL FURNITURE ON TIME
CASIDRA DELIVERS SCHOOL FURNITURE ON TIME
SanParks, together with the Department of Environmental Affairs’ Natural Resource Management Programme (NRMP) Unit, is developing furniture factories with the aim of providing school desks/furniture for Government Departments and SanPark facilities.
As the implementation agent for the Eco-furniture Factory Programme, SanParks is expected to procure raw material for various factories. Casidra has been appointed to oversee the procurement of these raw materials. Two bids were advertised in order to procure kiln-dried sawmill timber and manufactured school desk timber components. The kiln-dried timber is Eucalyptus Saligna and the desk components are manufactured from Eucalyptus Grandis, both invasive species.
Casidra and its service providers managed to supply up to 3000 cubic meters of kiln-dried sawmill timber and a minimum of 40 000 and up to a maximum of 70 000 manufactured timber desk components for secondary and primary school desks in a very short turnaround time. These schools’ desks will be delivered across the country.
The manager of this project, Elize van Deventer, says “Casidra continues to do the administration of the project extremely well and will ensure that all deliveries are on time as per client requirements”.
