AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT BRINGS EXCITEMENT TO MAMRE FARMERS
Beneficiaries from Mamre were thrilled to receive pig feed packages delivered by the Casidra team, marking a significant moment for the local farming community. Among those receiving the feed were eager young individuals who, for the first time, experienced a delivery from the Western Cape Department of Agriculture (WCDoA) and Casidra.
Glendal Davids, a recipient of the pig feed, expressed his gratitude, stating, “I embarked on my farming journey to provide for my family and build a brighter future.
I am fortunate to be able to teach my children and nephew about livestock farming and cultivating our home food garden. Their growing interest in agriculture fuels my hope that they will inspire other young people to explore this rewarding field.”
Glendal emphasised the importance of agriculture in combating food insecurity within their community, saying, “My greatest aspiration is to leave behind a legacy of agricultural innovation. I am delighted that my son has also become a beneficiary, applying for a food garden starter kit to expand our garden and follow in my footsteps.”
The event was further highlighted by the presence of nine-year-old Staphen Prince, who accompanied a family member to collect their starter pack from Casidra. Staphen, a young agricultural enthusiast, manages a small garden with his livestock.
His passion for farming began early, and he is diligently learning the skills necessary to succeed. His dedication has earned him multiple medals and awards for his advanced agricultural practices.
Casidra remains committed to inspiring and motivating the younger generation, ensuring that the future of agriculture is bright and innovative.
