ACEO’s Desk: VOTE OF APPRECIATION FOR THE YEAR

In a year that will go down in history books as a time that brought the world literally to a complete standstill due to COVID-19, we operated in an environment where the economic realities and social challenges deteriorated. This has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic that has reaped havoc worldwide, causing major disruptions to economies and the unfortunate loss of life of many.

Casidra had to adapt fast and ensure that it continues with its primary mandate – that of implementing key projects to advance the quality of life of resource-poor people in rural parts of the Western Cape.

We continued to champion the implementation of a broad range of projects, which includes rural development initiatives, capacity, and project management resources for stimulating economic development and job creation as well as land reform as a high priority.

We could not have done this alone, as we strongly believe in building key strategic relationships most importantly with our main funder, the Western Cape Department of Agriculture.  On behalf of Casidra’s Board, Management and Staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Executive Authority, Dr Ivan Meyer, and the WCDoA’s Head of Department, Dr Mogale Sebopetsa, and his team for their steadfast belief in Casidra.  The WCDoA was very supportive and together we passionately addressed challenges that came our way during this time.   We will always do our utmost to deliver on their expectation #fortheloveofagriculture

Lastly, my appreciation and acknowledgment go to our Management and Staff for their continuous commitment to deliver the best service to change the quality of life of our rural communities.  Thank you and continue to do great work and most importantly maintain our good track record of unqualified audit reports – 2019/20 being our 31st year of success. Let’s continue to remain committed and be at the forefront to change the lives of the poor communities in the Western Cape.
