Casidra joined various Departments of the Western Cape Government, Witzenberg Municipality and other organisations including commercial banks during the Entrepreneur Day hosted by the Perdekraal East Wind Farm on the 8th of June 2023 in the Bella Vista community hall.

The aim of this session was to empower local entrepreneurs on how to access business information and funding opportunities in order to grow their small businesses.

According to Gwynne-Lee Borcherds, the Economic Development Manager for the Perdekraal East Wind Farm, the farm has socio-economic and enterprise development commitments towards four wards within the Witzenberg area during the commercial operation period. The Wind Farm continuously seeks to ensure that there is evident enterprise development and socio-economic transformation.

The first Entrepreneur Day was held in 2022 and the success was proven through a visible increase in local compliant SMMEs. In light of last year’s success, the Economic Development team decided to continue the Entrepreneur Day on an annual basis to enable continued and improved compliance and registrations, through the SMME Information Sessions/Stakeholder Engagement Sessions that are incorporated in the Entrepreneur Day.

The 2023 Entrepreneur Day was well attended by participants who demonstrated passion and eagerness to grow their businesses. They proactively interacted with the Stakeholder during the session. This was another success and Casidra is excited to be part of this initiative in the future. We hope our contributions will add value to the growth of our entrepreneurs in the Cape Winelands District.
